25 Stories in One Room, Compass® at ADGI Design Week

Compass® showcased the complete 25-shoe collection from its 25th anniversary collaboration with ADGI during ADGI Design Week.

In 2024, Compass® took part in ADGI Design Week, an initiative by the Asosiasi Desainer Grafis Indonesia (ADGI). We exhibited all 25 collaborative shoes from our exclusive 2023 collection with ADGI, created to mark Compass®’ 25th anniversary. This project highlighted our commitment to championing creativity, collaboration, and storytelling through design.

Compass®, ADGI, and Grafis’80: Sharing the Same Spirit of a Beginning

Through this collaboration, Compass® revisited the journey of graphic design in Indonesia—one of the key inspirations being Grafis’80, the country’s first-ever graphic design exhibition. Held in September 1980 by Ikatan Perancang Grafis Indonesia (IPGI), now known as ADGI, Grafis’80 marked a pivotal moment: the birth of a professional design community.

Compass®, ADGI, and Grafis’80 share the same spirit—one that celebrates beginnings, experimentation, and the pursuit of cultural identity through visuals.

This 25-shoe collection brought together 25 designers and studios. Each collaborator infused their own visual language, weaving together stories of past, present, and future—uniting Compass®’ heritage with the bold vision of a new generation.

This exhibit wasn’t just a showcase—it was a celebration of how design moves us.
