Footprints in Bloom: Honoring 80 Years of Independence

LEGASI™ 1708 stands as a symbol of how a footprint from the past can grow and take on new form.

In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Compass® proudly presents LEGASI™ 1708. Last year, as Indonesia celebrated its 79th anniversary, Compass® did the same with the Tribune® silhouette. With a collection called “TBC,” Compass® brought the theme “Indonesia Bangga” to life.

The Making of LEGASI™.

LEGASI™ 1708 is born from the legendary K-1019 silhouette — the very first step in Compass®’s journey. The K-1019 was first made in 1983, when Compass® was still named Gazelle and operated under PT Kompas Mas. This legendary archive is what once helped the Gazelle name flourish.

LEGASI™ 1708 is a tribute to the steps already taken, and a determination to leave new footprints along the way.

This collection celebrates longevity, honor, and prosperity.

Available in two sacred Indonesian colors: red and white. An illustration of the peony flower is paired with the number 80 crafted on the insole. The peony, known as the King of Flowers, symbolizes abundance, luxury, and good fortune. The numbers 8 and 80 echo meanings of balance and eternity, resembling the infinity symbol – boundless and timeless.

A sign of achievement is celebrated with deep meaning. The years go by, yet the same hope returns again and again, embracing the determination to always move forward with wisdom.

For Compass®, independence is the opportunity to move forward with a footprint that continues to grow. LEGASI™ 1708 marks that a journey begun decades ago remains alive, growing, adapting, and ready to face the future.
